The Blue Stocking Society and 7 On Red present

Friday 6 April

Seven Dials Club, 42 Earlham St, Covent Garden, WC2H 9LA

Celebrated cabaret sorority returns this Easter to Covent Garden following their triumphant West End debut.

It may be Good Friday for everyone else, but it’s Bad Girl Friday for our misbehaving hoydens. Bad girls – and bad boys – are invited to join them as they get up to no good at a night of burlesque, variety, cabaret and mischief this Easter with their Bad Girl Friday show. This month the fun and frivolity is hosted by none other than Ophelia Bitz, joined by April’s guest burlesque stars Shirley Windmill and Ginger Blush, and, as always, the Blue Stocking Society’s most notorious Madams: Madam Treasurer Tricity Vogue and and Madam Secretary Audacity Chutzpah. With the bar open till 1am and a bespoke cocktail named after every bad girl in the show, this critically acclaimed Time Out recommended show is a great way to make Good Friday even better.

“…setting the world to rights with quirky cabaret, mirthful songs and the notorious raffle…” The Londonist

“London’s most celebrated sorority” Time Out London Critics’ Choice

Featuring special guests:

Ophelia Bitz performs internationally as a compere, sideshow performance artist and vocalist with a caustic and witty style that will leave you reeling.

 “Twisted Genius” The Guardian

Last year saw Shirley Windmill claim her crown as ‘Best Variety newcomer’ at the prestigious ‘London Burlesque Week 2011.’

“Outstanding Cabaret”  Time Out Critics’ Choice

Praised for giving classic burlesque a contemporary comic twist, Ginger Blush bring lashings of humour, serious sex appeal and a side order of slapstick to her award-winning performances.

“The new star of burlesque Ginger Blush, a breath of comic fresh air, able to play between humour and sex appeal with a performance of extraordinary class” GQ Italia

With Bluestocking co-founders:

Madam Secretary, Blue Stocking Society

London Cabaret Awards 2012 Short-listed Nominee and Tournament of Tease 2008 winner Audacity Chutzpah has performed her own incomparable style of burlesque on countless stages across the UK and internationally.

“…they’ll have to take the biscuit and the tin it came in to match the double-barrelled brazenness that is Audacity Chutzpah, the clown-queen of burlesque…” The Londonist

Madam Treasurer, Blue Stocking Society

One of London’s best-loved quirky divas, the London Cabaret Award nominee Tricity Vogue has been putting her own offbeat twist on vintage jazz glamour for the last eight years.

“Anyone else a massive fan of the divine Miss Vogue and her ukulele..? Thought so. It’s cabaret to run down side streets for. Just get there early.” Time Out London Critics’ Choice

Chutzpah and Vogue founded the Blue Stocking Society in April 2010 as an impish – and literal – modern take on the 18th century gatherings of the same name. Originally a soiree for society ladies rebelliously interested in using their brains, despite the slur on their femininity, the 21st century cabaret version revels in the mischievous juxtaposition of female intelligence and sex appeal, often with uproariously entertaining results.

7 on Red is a West End entertainment company working out of the Seven Dials Club. Their objective is to bring high quality entertainment to Covent Garden, and to provide an arts resource for performers and audience alike. 7 on Red have been running comedy nights at the Seven Dials Club since June 2011, and are now pleased to welcome the Blue Stocking Society into their family of artistic collaborators.
